This edition consists of the collections Premier Livre (1706), Pièces de Clavecin (1724, 1731), ""Nouvelles Suites de Pièces de Clavecin (ca. 1728), Cinq Pièces (1741) and La Dauphine (1747). The musical text is based exclusively upon the composer`s own First Editions, for we no longer possess autograph manuscripts of Rameaus harpsichord compositions, with the single exception of La Dauphine. The original ornament signs are employed throughout. The written texts appended by Rameau to the Second and Third Collection of his harpsichord pieces are here reproduced for the first time together with complete English and German translations.
