From the Author
First let me say that I am grateful you have decided to investigate my new book. The genesis of the book was a response to a deep unrelenting need to uncover what I always knew intrinsically to be true, that people are not simply the sum of their experiences and behaviors, thus not the problems they have. I felt that if I could establish my theory in lay terms and illustrate it in practical examples, I would have a precious and necessary gift to offer the world.
Mission Accomplished!
The first person I shared my idea with was my mentor Dr. Kenneth Blanchard, co-author of the One Minute Manager and most recently Gung Ho! Ken embraced the idea and coached me through the process of unpacking my ideas. He also wrote the forward to my book. Here is an excerpt: "If we all could internalize the simple truths in this book, the world we live in and the organizations in which we work would be better places. We would all finally understand that God does not make junk. People are beautiful, they're just not perfect..."
I realized I had a worthwhile topic when people responded with the hope that at last there might be a reliable way of rescuing the world from the intoxicity of "Playing the blame game!" It does no good to blame people for what goes wrong in our lives nor does it benefit us to hate ourselves for coming up short. We do better when we marshal our resources to attack the problem instead of other people and/or ourselves.
When you venture into People Are Never The Problem you will discover some valuable techniques and resources for helping you to see yourself and others apart from the problems you both have. You will embark on a journey which will empower you with new ways to get the most out of your life and at the same time assist others in SOARING WITH THEIR GREATEST POTENTIAL.
It all begins when we discover how to take off the shackles of misdiagnosing people as the problem. After all when we treat people like the problem we attempt to solve them, well isn't that how we are suppose to respond to problems? Yes, but you will learn from People Are Never The Problem that people are not in the world to be solved, but to be loved.
Whether your perspective is that of a educator, executive, minister, housewife, househusband, tribal chief, athlete, mine worker, manicurist, or ditch digger, this book will aide you in getting the most out of your time on this planet.
Here are some others who have already been inspired by People Are Never The Problem:
Since beliefs drive our behaviors, I can't think of any better belief to have than the title of this book 'People Are Never The Problem'. Read this book!
Hyrum W. Smith, Chairman Franklin Covey
As a coach I always tried to solve problems rather than blame people. You can send energy soaring in your teams if you focus on the problems people have and not on people as problems. A very helpful book!
Don Shula, NFL Hall of Fame Winningest Coach of All Time
No gimmicks, no novelties, no tricks, this book is full of simple truths sufficient to provide a bushel of spiritual inspirations to all who read it.
James Nassikas, Hotelier of the Year Former President of The Stanford Court Hotel, San Francisco, CA
