In Your Map to the Future: Learn How to Navigate and Shape What Lies Ahead, Dr. Mesko, a futurist researcher and global keynote speaker, reveals that analyzing the future isn’t just for experts or think tanks—it’s a skill everyone can use. He describes how starting from the traps of short-term thinking and presentism, we can finally expand our time perspective and learn to observe and examine the future as we have been doing with the past.
It will change your view of the future, inspiring you to approach it with hope and purpose!
While the future is believed to be a fixed, singular path, in fact, multiple futures exist, and Your Map To The Future gives you the science-based tools to explore and prepare for them. With fresh perspectives, Dr. Mesko illustrates why looking forward is crucial in addressing today’s most pressing issues, from climate change to artificial intelligence.
Through practical guidance, he introduces tools to help readers overcome short-term thinking, manage information overload, and become resilient agents of change. It’s a call to action: by expanding our understanding of the future, we can ensure it becomes a space where our best ideas, values, and goals can thrive either in your professional or personal life.
Dr. Mesko shows how using futures methods and adopting futures thinking can lead to becoming active shapers of tomorrow. By visualizing and working toward desirable futures, individuals and communities can regain hope, creating goals with concrete paths. When we adopt these methods on a larger scale, futures planning becomes a collective effort that strengthens communities
When it comes to the future, this book will help you transform uncertainty into scenarios, fear and anxiety into emotional resilience, and blind spots into visions you can look forward to.
