About Libris Books
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR US CUSTOMERS. OUR COURIER HAS NOTIFIED US OF POSSIBLE DELAYS TO THE USPS SERVICE THAT WE USE DUE TO TARIFF CHANGES. ALL OF OUR BOOKS HAVE DUTIES AND TAXES PAID FOR YOU AT OUR END. IF YOU NEED YOUR BOOK IN A HURRY PLEASE CONTACT US AND WE WILL ENDEAVOUR TO EXPEDITE THIS FOR YOU. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. We are a small independent bookseller who have over 18 years experience in selling online on a number of marketplaces and in a High Street bookshop. We do not have our own website. We take pride in delivering our books safely to you in custom boxes and bubble wrap within 48 hours of your order and often more quickly than that. We collate all of our books carefully and describe any defects in our descriptions. All of our photographs are of the actual book and not a stock image. We do not sell ex-library or published on demand books. We have a limited selection of self-published books depending on their quality. Signed Copies and First Printings If the book is signed, we will provide photographs of the signature. Flat signed means that the author has signed their name without a dedication to anyone. Please have a look at our signed titles. We have many that are scarce or no other copy is available on line at the time of listing. A book listed as a first edition is not necessarily the first printing /first impression. We will always refer you to the copyright page with a number line containing 1 or the number 1 under the publishing date to indicate a first printing. A first thus is a first printing of the book in that edition. Valuing Our Books We know that there are often hundreds of copies of a title on ABE and it can be hard to wade through the listings. This is the reason we take time and care to describe each of our books as fully as possible and provide photographs of the actual book. We aim to provide a price that reflects our book realistically amongst all of the others for sale and this is heavily dependent on its condition, provenance and availability from other sellers. All of our dust jackets are protected in archival wrap prior to dispatch. They are photographed without wraps to make inspection of the condition easier for potential buyers. All books without dust jackets are protected with a 100 micron acid free archival jacket. This not only improves the appearance of your book; it also protects it from further wear. Collating and Describing We make every effort to describe the book for sale as fully as possible. We understand the importance of accurate grading of condition for buyers. Hardbacks will have an external description of the condition of the boards including the corners and spine ends. Additionally, the presence of titles and decoration to the boards and spine. The endpapers will be described as well as the fore edge, text block and title page. Softbacks will describe the condition of the wraps, corners and spine ends For All Books The edition and impression number will be noted. Anything not mentioned can be assumed to be in fine condition. Illustrations and illustrators will be noted along with anything else about the book which may be of interest. We are proud of our inventory of just over 7000 titles with a wide range of unusual titles, books in handsome bindings and uncommon finds. We specialize in any book that we deem to be of interest due to scarcity, provenance, illustrations or signature. We have a lot of scarce titles and many signed first edition books. We are interested in all of our titles and will usually provide a description of the book's contents and if available, a biography and photograph of the author. We are strict with our grading of a book's condition and book and jacket will only be listed as fine if they have no defects. We aim to note every fault that is present.
