Synopsis:
Der Dichter Otto Julius Bierbaum (1865-1910) war als Autor und Herausgeber verschiedener Zeitschriften (PAN, Die Insel) in seiner Zeit eine sehr bekannte Persönlichkeit. Das Buch erzählt die Liebesgeschichte von Bierbaum und seiner ersten Ehefrau Gusti Rathgeber, eine Zinngießerstochter aus Dießen am Ammersee. Die Ehe endete allerdings mit der Scheidung und Gusti heiratete den Komponisten und Dirigenten Oskar Fried. Das Leben der Gusti Rathgeber, über die bisher kaum etwas bekannt war, wird hier vorgestellt.
