(viii), 424 pp. Early black full morocco, spine with raised bands, gilt lettered label to one panel, ornate gilt tooling to the other compartments and both boards, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Two frontispieces, 234 full page engravings (many printed back-to-back) and 3 folding plates - being maps of Paradise and the voyages of the Apostles plus a large folding plan of Jerusalem. Losses to the spine ends, joints and hinges worn but holding, lower corner of plates 19 and 20 torn with loss, some tearing and creasing to the folding plates which show some old repairs on the verso.
