Hard cover with brown leather spine and corners, and marbled boards; the front board is detached and there is a 3cm piece of the upper spine end missing, plus some rubbing of leather and mild wear to boards. 281 untrimmed pages, French text. Inside the front cover is a book plate - The gift of M Oppenheim (1853-1927, bibliophile and pioneer historian of English naval administration) in 1919 to Bath Public Reference Library, but none of the usual lending library labels.
