Large 8vo. 6.75 x 9.75 inches. v + [iii] + 569 pp. + [1]. Title page in red and black. Bound in original cloth, gilt, later rebacked with printed paper label. Some slight foxing but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 9 engraved plates including two folding and by engravings in text. A very important Kentish town history, and a maritime history, together with the story of the adjacent dockyards by Robert Peirce Cruden (1776-1843). Scarce.
