Un hombre se queda encerrado en una casa, mientras un escritor se encierra en un estilo. Una mujer ve dobles las botellas y el narrador ve dobles los adjetivos. Un macarra no sabe si a sus vecinos les ha tocado la lotería, pero a él le ha tocado ser un cuento en primera persona. Una inmigrante recibe en su teléfono móvil tres horas de silencio, y el autor pone los puntos suspensivos. También hay un anciano moribundo que quema todos sus libros, una carta que una niña leerá cuando sea adulta, un cuarentón que busca no cometer su crimen, un chaval que se hace un lío con el VHS y un jubilado que, como Alberto Olmos en este libro, consigna sus encuentros con la vida. De amor se habla hacia atrás y de parejas hay dos combates.
Guardar las formas reúne doce maneras de ponerse por escrito, doce situaciones de riesgo donde la soledad, el dinero, la tecnología o la muerte nos inspiran terror, empatía, fascinación o estremecimiento.
El cuento enseña a ceder enseguida la palabra, y este debut de Alberto Olmos en la narrativa breve, debut en el que abundan la indagación y la fiesta, trata sobre todo de dar voz a los otros, de huir de sí.

Alberto Olmos (Segovia, 1975) ha publicado las novelas A bordo del naufragio (1998), Trenes hacia Tokio (2006), El talento de los demás (2007), Tatami (2008), El estatus (2009), Ejército enemigo (Literatura Random House, 2011) y Alabanza (Literatura Random House, 2014). Su labor literaria en internet dio lugar al volumen Algunas ideas buenísimas que el mundo se va a perder (Caballo de Troya, 2009), donde reunió textos ajenos, y a Vida y opiniones de Juan Mal-herido (2010) y Pose (2013), que recogen buena parte de su narrativa digital. Fue el responsable de la antología Última temporada. Nuevos narradores españoles 1980-1989 (2013) y fue el editor encargado de Caballo de Troya en la cosecha de autores del año 2016.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to medimops, Leipzig, Germany, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
