Small Octavo. Engraved titlepage, [11], 325, [21] pages. Hardcover / Contemporary full calf with blindstamped ornament tooled along spine. Binding stronger rubbed and upper spine slightly damaged; but the volume firm and in very good condition. Small cutout to endpaper. Smaller, faded dampstain from page 247 onwards. Dampstain to both endpapers. Text otherwise clean and bright ! Name of William L. Webb in ink on titlepage. Chapters in this publication include: Oratoria / Historica / Poetica / Chapter on french humanist Marc Antoine Muret, Sylvius Antonianus and Franciscus Bencius / Academia / Plautina // Famianus Strada was a Jesuit writer.
