About the Author

Georg Glaeser ist seit 1998 Professor f�r Mathematik und Geometrie an der Universit�t f�r angewandte Kunst Wien und gleichzeitig leidenschaftlicher Tierfotograf. Er ist Autor zahlreicher B�cher auf dem Gebiet der Mathematik, Geometrie, Computergrafik und Fotografie. Ein Spezialgebiet ist die Vernetzung von Mathematik und Biologie, die sich in mehreren B�chern manifestiert, zuletzt in "Wie aus der Zahl ein Zebra wird" (erschienen im gleichen Verlag).

Hannes F. Paulus, Professor f�r Zoologie, war 1973-1991 an der Universit�t Freiburg i Br und von 1993-2013 Vorstand des Instituts f�r Evolutionsbiologie der Universit�t Wien. In seinen zahlreichen
wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten und Lehrbuchbeitr�gen geht es u.A. um die stammesgeschichtliche Entwicklung von Augen (vor allem Gliederf��er) und um Best�ubungsbiologie (vor allem Sexualt�uschung bei Orchideen). Seine Forschungsaufenthalte f�hrten ihn nach S�damerika, Afrika und vor allem in alle Teile des Mittelmeergebietes. Seit 2013 ist er emeritiert und nun am
Department f�r Integrative Zoologie der Universit�t Wien t�tig.
