Add to basketProteomics is a well-established discipline, within which sample treatment has emerged as a rapidly evolving and strategic sub-area. Despite its importance, only a few books are dedicated specifically to innovative sample treatment protocols in proteomics. This thoroughly updated second edition offers a comprehensive overview of these emerging approaches. It presents the latest developments in the field, with particular emphasis on high-resolution mass spectrometry and on technologies designed to streamline sample preparation and to simplify proteome analysis for the reader. Focusing on nanotechnology and label-free quantification as cutting-edge strategies for sample handling, the volume explores recent technical advances while also providing a clear account of classical sample treatment procedures in proteomics. This combination makes the book a valuable resource for researchers, advanced students and practitioners seeking both foundational knowledge and state-of-the-art methodologies.
