Ex-agent of the secret Service and colonel to the Queen, Sir Harold Wilberforce Clifton has become an amateur detective. The irreducible Brit solves enigmas for the police and thwarts the plans of unscrupulous thieves. In this volume, after reading a horror story, Clifton suspects his house to be haunted. As he heads an investigation, his research quickly leads him to Mr Wilkinson, an artist. A few days later, an unexplainable theft occurs: is Wilkinson involved?
