2022 Updated Edition
Just between us recruiters, the elephant in the room is that recruiting involves a lot more than sourcing candidates!
The most time-wasting aspect of recruiting is often trying to keep things moving when hiring managers are not engaged. You’re sourcing great candidates but the invisible side of recruiting—the internal hurdles you have to leap over—is making what should now be a straightforward process into a frustrating tap dance of trying to get hiring managers to make decisions and get back to you so you can finally close the req and move on to the next!
I have been there--landing great candidates only to struggle to get hiring managers to actually hire them!
Then I discovered a woefully overlooked, rarely taught strategy to go from ignored to influential. And now I’m so excited to be able to share this with you.
Now you can quickly get:
BETTER flow of the best candidates
FASTER fills of your reqs and job orders
Bonus Gifts Download link on page 161.
- A set of recruiting tools to accelerate results in all aspects of your recruiting process (download in word format so you can customize)
- A comprehensive list of questions to successfully launch a new search, land the best candidates faster, all while building an even stronger business partnership with your hiring managers.
- How to write postings your best candidates will love, even if you hate writing, think you aren't creative and came close to flunking English in high school (page 121)
And BTW, you don't even have to read the whole book to start experiencing those benefits. Check the Quick Start Guide on page 151. Start solving your biggest time-wasting challenges immediately!
Just some of the strategies inside:
- Your surprisingly simple secret sauce strategy to quickly build trust and influence. (page 45)
- Leverage French Fry Moments to shatter that old undeserved order taker stereotype (page 23)
- How to solve the problem almost all recruiters deal with: HM’s not getting back to you (page 75)
- How to use the “get me to Phoenix” strategy to HM’s to really talk to you. You cannot influence them if you don't know what they are really thinking. Now you will! (page 51)
- And much much more!
Don’t just take my word for it. Here results other recruiters report when they used these strategies:
“Katherine’s strategies changed everything—for the better. Before, we had never hit our hiring targets. We are now hitting them month after month. The hiring managers have used the term “life changing”.
Claire P. VP, Talent Acquisition, Hospitality
“Katherine provided me the tools needed to have meaningful conversations with Hiring Managers and candidates which allowed me to fill positions quicker.”Heidi B., Sr Recruiting Associate, DIRECTV
“Katherine’s guidance on how to effectively communicate and redirect some of the behavior we experience with non-engaged hiring managers was exactly what we needed in our current high-pressure environment.” Vicki B., Recruiting Consultant, Avery Dennison
“Katherine’s unique tools resulted in reducing time to fill from 70-80 days to 40-50 days for most vacancies. For the first time, I am receiving numerous compliments from Hiring Managers as well.” Amanda C., Talent Acquisition Manager, Digital Entertainment
“Katherine totally transformed our search practice and we are seeing significant results on the bottom line.” Recruiting Director, International Executive Search Firm

About the Author
Recruiting was a third career for Katherine, after serving as a marketing executive for a software development firm and running her own coaching and personal development firm for several years.
Katherine has been a corporate recruiter, a recruiter for a world-wide retained executive search company as well as a small regional retained recruiting firm. She has done searches for positions ranging from individual contributors to CEOs with million dollar salaries, in industries ranging from complex technologies to cupcakes.
Today Katherine is training and coaching recruiters in companies across the US, including DIRECTV, Verizon Wireless, Avery Dennison and The Cheesecake Factory. Even though it means leaving her lakeside cabin, she is excited to meet recruiters around the country and see how her techniques are helping recruiters fill positions faster.
Even better, they report they are having more fun and enjoying more influential relationships with their hiring managers.
