From the Author
The chief aim of this book is to provide you with valuable ideas and insights that will help you achieve dramatic gains in productivity and profits! We hope you find the skills useful. This book gives you an overview of Business Process Reengineering so that you will be able to plan your efforts.
This one book won’t give you all the answers to your questions, but it will give you the foundation to make an informed decision as to whether reengineering is right for your company at this time. You will not emerge an expert, but you will learn enough to start making a reengineering plan for your company. You will also learn of many resources you can use to help you along the way.
You will be challenged to stretch your mind. I trust that when you put this book down you will be excited about new opportunities for you and your company.
WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?
This book was written to help all levels of people involved in reengineering. When I reviewed the material currently available on the market I found many conflicting presentations of the principles. Some books were very general and talked primarily to senior executives. Others talked to those who were actually doing the reengineering and they talked in very great detail, so much so that it could easily be overwhelming to all but the experienced reengineer. So I wrote this book, not to be the "Complete Handbook of Reengineering" but rather to boil it down to something that would be useful and yet at the same time, easily understood to all levels of people who were unfamiliar with reengineering.
