What is the church for? Who are God’s people? What does abundant life look like? Church leaders and people of faith continue to do more than preserve what they have, they want what Jesus came to bring: abundant life. This book aims to anchor a theology and model of social engagement in the most important word in the Bible: with. Samuel Wells, vicar of St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, has written nearly fifty books on how the Jesus came to be with people, not to fix their problems but to live into God’s abundance. This book builds on Wells’s theology to show how one church lived into that theology and that model with abundant results. Abundance isn’t a mindset; it’s a model of how people live with their neighbors and of discovering where their true treasure lies, in relationships.
