The main objective of this book is to increase accuracy and avoid spoofing attacks from hackers. With the increasing demand for biometric solutions for security systems, palmprint recognition a relatively novel but promising biometric technology. Palmprint, as a new member of the biometrics family, has attracted much of research attention in the past decade. Many different algorithms and systems have been proposed and built; although great success has been achieved in palmprint research, most of the previous palmprint recognition works use a white light source of illumination, which does not highlight the more feature this problem is solved by a spectral band of multispectral palmprint. Palmprint recognition could be further improved in two aspects: higher accuracy and robustness against spoof attack. Multispectral imaging, a method to collect a series of images by different spectra, is a good technique to address the issues mentioned above.
