Synopsis
En 778, à Roncevaux, l'arrière-garde de l'armée de Charlemagne, conduite par son neveu le comte Roland, tombe dans une terrible embuscade. Près de trois siècles plus tard, à l'époque de la première croisade, cette déroute militaire devient le prétexte à la plus fameuse des chansons de geste : Charlemagne, le roi chrétien, combat les Sarrasins musulmans et venge la mort de Roland.
