Synopsis

The Hadrian's Wall Path guide is your essential all-in-one walking companion to 84 miles of northern England, from Bowness-on-Solway to Newcastle upon Tyne.

Now fully re-walked for its 8th edition, this long-established Trailblazer guide is regularly updated for walkers.

The trail follows the line of northern Europe's most impressive surviving Roman monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include Vindolanda, Housesteads and Great Chesters Fort, the historic towns of Hexham and Corbridge, and Segedunum at the eastern end.

What sets this guide apart is its mapping: large-scale, route-led maps based on Ordnance Survey data, showing distances, times, accommodation and food stops directly on the page. Whether it's your first multi-day walk or your next big challenge, you can plan your own days rather than follow rigid stages, with no need for extra apps or maps.

What You'll Discover:
  • 64 Large-Scale Walking Maps – Detailed maps at just under 1:20,000, with tricky junctions, gradients and points of interest marked, so you can walk with the book in hand.
  • Two-Way Itineraries & Stage Planning – Walk the full route in either direction, choose shorter sections or sample the highlights, ideal for hikers judging daily distance and ascent.
  • Town & Village Guides – Practical advice across 30 stops for all budgets, from cafés and pubs to B&Bs, hostels and campsites, perfect for planning each night's stop.
  • Public Transport Information – Access details for every point along the trail, great for walkers tackling shorter sections.
  • GPS & What3Words Waypoints – Downloadable references let you navigate with or without a device, ideal as a backup to paper maps.
