Cup of tea? Drop of milk? A spoonful of poison? At first sight, nothing would make the very select Green Manor club stand out from any other English club. Yet, behind its thick walls, sunk into its deep chairs, hides the biggest bunch of con artists, bandits and murderers Queen Victoria's England has ever seen.

Fabien Vehlmann, 37, made his debut with Green Manor. Recognized immediately as one of the cleverest scriptwriters of his generation, he has written many successful graphic novels, such as ''The Marquis of Anaon,'' a Spirou one-shot, and a new series ''Alone.'' The drawings of Denis Bodart, 45, entered the graphic novel world in 1985. He has tried his hand at all genres of comic books. Denis received the best drawing award in 2006 for Green Manor Part II from the Belgian Chamber of Experts in graphic novels.
