Synopsis
The story of an extraordinary relationship between one of the greatest writers of the 20th century and Gwen and Jacques Raverat told through the complete collection of their correspondence. Gwen was the granddaughter of Charles Darwin and Jacques was a French painter dying of MS. Illustrated with photos and the Raverats' wood engravings, paintings and drawings, this is a friendship whose later substance and passion was entirely expressed by letter.

A Limited Edition of 500, the book has a marker ribbon, head & tail bands and is quarter bound with Comptom Marbling paper sides, cloth top and tail slipcase with Ingres laid paper wrap.
It is illustrated with 44 black and white wood engravings, drawings and photographs by the Raverats and 8 colour pages of their paintings.
Many of the letters and other writings have not been published before.
