Fuchsias, with their striking, exotic flowers, are among the most popular and versatile of garden plants. They come in an enormous range of colours - from white and pale pink to aubergine and blue - and can be grown both outdoors and inside, in containers, hanging baskets, summer beds and conservatories. This beautiful book is an essential reference for gardeners and anyone interested in these wonderful and distinctive flowering plants. It contains both fascinating history and practical advice on how to grow fuchsias, as well as an illustrated directory of cultivars. A section on essential gardening techniques explains how to select and buy fuchsia plants, take cuttings, plant and train fuchsias into different shapes; how to plant in containers, hanging baskets, borders and hardy beds; as well as how to care for plants during the winter months and how to control the most common pests and diseases. With over 25 practical step-by-step sequences and more than 500 inspirational full-colour photographs and illustrations, this book is a must for anyone who has a passion for these stunning and well-loved plants, whether a novice fuchsia grower or a lifelong enthusiast.
