Synopsis
Louis-François Lejeune, young colonel attached to the emperor's staff, meets his old friend Henri Beyne in occupied Vienna. He also meets the beautiful Anna Krauss, with whom he is madly in love with. Nearby, though, Napoleon is attempting to crush the Austrian army, and organising the crossing of the Danube for his troops on a single pontoon bridge hurriedly erected near Essling. About the Author
Patrick Rambaud is a veteran author who calculated having written over 100,000 pages over his long career, and now sits on the prestigious Goncourt Academy. Frederic Richaud is a multi-talented individual who's written biographies, novels and several bande dessinee scripts. Ivan Gil, a Spanish artist and art teacher, was long a miniature designer.
