Since 1990, the United Nations Development Programme has been publishing Human Development Reports at the global, regional, national and local level. About the Author

Severine Deneulin is Lecturer in International Development at the University of Bath, UK. She researches on the conceptual foundations of the human development and capability approach and on the role of religion and values in development. She has published The Capability Approach and the Praxis of Development (Palgrave, 2006), Religion in Development (Zed, 2009).
