About the Author

Peter Bramley has had a long career in training. In the 1960s and 1970s he
worked in the Army, first as a trainer and then as organiser of an internal
training consultancy for the Directorate of Army Training. In the 1980s and
1990s he discussed issues in training, development and organisational
change with MSc and PhD students at Birkbeck College, University of London.
He also directed a research and consulting group which worked with many
organisations in both public and private sectors on the interface between
the development of people and organisational change. He is now
retired but still does some writing and part-time teaching.
