Synopsis
In this eighth volume of the Complete Collection, the next Blake & Mortimer written - in two parts - by Jean Van Hamme and illustrated by three different artists, brings the reader along on one of Professor Mortimer's favourite activities: archaeology - and if there are echoes of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade in The Curse of the 30 Pieces of Silver, the story is all the better for it. For the third album collected in this volume, The Oath of the Five Lords, the style is more Agatha Christie, with a thriller set in the heart of England that reveals some dark aspects of Captain Blake's career as a spy - giving the character more depth and credibility. Finally, the bonus material goes over the difficulties encountered to produce the first two albums in great detail.

About the Authors
Jean Van Hamme is one of the most acclaimed writers of European comics, (and the author of among others) Thorgal, XIII, and Largo Winch, all published by Cinebook.
An award-winning writer and artist, Ted Benoit was known for his meticulousness.
Rene Sterne, creator of the series Adler, passed away in 2006 while making a Blake & Mortimer album, and it was his wife Chantal De Spiegeleer - an author, artist and colourist in her own right - who completed the work.
Antoine Aubin worked for publisher Hachette-Disney for many years, before being chosen to take over from Rene Sterne on Blake and Mortimer, with the assistance of Etienne Shreder, himself a veteran artist and colourist.
Andre Juillard was a celebrated artist with a career spanning more than 35 years. He worked on famous series such as Les Sept Vies de L'Epervier and Masquerouge and obtained the Grand Prix at the Angouleme festival in 1996.
