About the Author
Helen Paris is an artistic director of Curious. Curious has performed at venues and festivals, including the Guling Street Avant-Garde Theatre, Taiwan, London’s Cultural Olympiad and the Sydney Opera House. From 2011 to 2018, Helen served as a professor of performance at Stanford University. Books include Performing Proximity (Palgrave, 2014) and Devising Theatre and Performance: Curious Methods (Intellect, 2021). In 2024, Helen was awarded a GATES Distinguished Fellowship at the Maison de la Creation et de l’Innovation, Grenoble University and a Bogliasco Fellowship for Theatre. Novels include Lost Property (Penguin, 2022) and The Invisible Women’s Club (Penguin, 2023).
