The Little Girl Who Wants to be a Tree features a little girl who loves to talk to the tree outside her bedroom window. One day, when she declares that she want to become that tree-, her tree -friend tells her that she already has a tree inside of her. She wants to know more. The tree shares with her how to make friends with her inner tree, which is described as her own innermost soul, and how to invite this companion to take her on inner journeys. The story details several journeys the little girl goes on to discover her various hidden inner talents, her own capacity to be in charge of her life, and what she can put to use immediately in order to discover how very happy and fulfilled she can feel her whole life long.

Clare S. Rosenfield is an artist, poet, writer, meditation teacher, and harpist. She is also a licensed clinical social worker who created her own holistic form of self-healing therapy called "Contact Healing." A Smith College graduate, she received both an M.A. in French and later an M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University. Her harp studies were in the field of playing the harp for end-of-life care. Her poetry collections and verse narratives are Roll On Great Earth, Tall Grasses of Woods Hole & Other Summery Poems, Ninsun: Wise Mother of Gilgamesh, Nameless One of Splendor: Her Sacred Arts of Creation, and Your Inmost Tree of Life: An Invitation. Now she is bringing forth her love for writing children's books in this book as well as the recently published. Sun-Child, Seven Meditations for Children, The Story of Liliana: a Brave Indigenous Child, To The Rescue: Little Creatures, How Do I Love Thee, and The Sleeping Giantess Wakes Up. Clare draws upon more than fifty years of experience integrating therapeutic and spiritual approaches from East and West in order to educate herself and inspire others including children to recognize the wisdom that lies at the depths of our soul and to discover our capacity to communicate and commune with all of life's forms, just as the little girl in this story learns to do with her outer and inner tree.
