Wraps. Presumed first edition/first printing. v, [1], 29, [1]p. Illustrations. Endnotes. From an on-line posting: "A primary catalyst in achieving our strategic ends in Iraq is through the formulation of a consolidated and cooperative strategic health care policy to enable the successful operation of the Iraqi health care system. An often-cited criticism of U.S. policy, however, is that after the end of major hostilities and transition into stabilization operations, we fall short in post-conflict planning and execution. This analysis highlights some of these operational deficiencies, and it provides recommendations for achieving a more coordinated, functional, and thereby synchronous strategic health care policy. These proposals will enable the U.S. Government (USG) to address health policy operations in stabilization and transitional phase contexts currently and in the future. Lieutenant Colonel Thomas S. Bundt is a Medical Service Corps Officer and the Commander of the 187th Medical Battalion, 32nd Medical Brigade, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. His latest overseas tour was to Iraq where he served as the Deputy Health Attaché to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad working directly with the Minister of Health on the first implemented health policy since Operation IRAQI FREEDOM began. Lieutenant Colonel Bundt is published in several journals. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Master s in History and International Relations from Louisiana State University, a Master s in Health Care Administration, a Master s in Business Administration and a Doctorate in Health Services Research from the University of Florida, and an M.A. in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College."
