Synopsis

The Vale of Unika continues the quest of Loki for the goddess Zair and power to control the strange and mysterious creatures who once performed in Bump's Circus. After only thirty years of rejuvenation for the spirits of Nature who were displaced for more than a thousand years, Mrs. Bump knows she must allow the process to go forward. The Trickster Loki seizes upon William Wimmur as his human escort. Other powers contend through William. Mrs. Bump pleads, "Save the Vale and protect Zair!" William shows odd resilience and purposes of his own, including a deep love for the fantastic beings and especially for Zair. Thus begins the longer struggle of The Six Inversions of Purpose. How does one defeat the Lord of Fate?

About this title

About the Author

C. R. Bryan is fond of the wonderful worlds that may blossom only in the mind yet are so real that multitudes accept them for reality. He is author of Bump's Circus, which is the prequel to the Vale of Unika. He is also a painter and musician living on the fringes of the Texas Hill Country, which is the setting for much of this novel. There are at least five more volumes in the series, The Six Inversions of Purpose, to be released as soon as may be. As Mortimer the Magnificent Dragon likes to say, “Scrumptious!”
