About this title

About the Author

Maria Chippendale was born in Worcestershire in 1964. A descendant of Thomas, of cabinet making and furniture design fame, the creative "Chippendale" gene has passed through five generations undiminished. Initially, working as a Civil Servant, she moved swiftly through a brief spell in marketing to directing her own successful Interior Design business, before moving to a more vocational career in Children's Services as a Teacher, Counsellor and Youth Worker, where she focused her energy on young people in need of support. With a number of poems and newspaper articles published along the way, she founded and edited "Talkabout" magazine, facilitated several other youth magazines for and by children and young people and has been the author of a multitude of work-related publications. This is her first novel.
