This is a compact little book that will help those just getting started in the creative process of writing. It is packed with helpful information that does not overwhelm, but points the reader in the right direction. After reading this book you'll learn to change the way you think about writing, and more important, how you go about writing and getting published. If you've been putting off your own writing journey, then this book might jar you out of all those reasons you put in front of you everyday that keep you from getting started. It also offers two examples of nonfiction and fiction writing styles that serve as a motivation for others to schedule time to write the story that is living inside their own head. Use this guide book as a first step to learning more about the craft of writing. And, may we ask: What kept you from writing today? The answers just may be inside this book.

J. Andy Murphy is a motivational speaker and a much requested book club moderator. Her novels include Bloodless (Glenbridge Publishing) and If You Believe, A Christmas Story (Brzamo Publishing, LLC). Andy's journey to writing came after a serious illness which erased a good portion of her memory, leaving her to accept the challenge of having to learn to read and write all over again as an adult. This is the foundation for her passion for helping others realize their dream of writing. She is also the Co-Founder and Director of the successful WriteStuff Writer's Conferences, which are recognized as educational and entertaining events that support Midwest writers, editors and publishers. Working with Ambassadair Travel Club, she created the WriteStuff Writer's Getaway Trips where those who think they may want to write a novel or a family history can learn more about the craft of writing and the business of publishing as they travel to beautiful locations which encourage a writer's spirit. Andy is married with two sons and three grandchildren. She enjoys creative writing and makes time to read as many books as she can. She loves talking to school children, encouraging them to begin their own writing journey.
