Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. About the Author
Edouard Goursat (1858-1936) était un mathématicien français connu pour son travail en analyse et en équations différentielles. Il a apporté des contributions significatives à la théorie des fonctions d'une variable complexe et aux équations aux dérivées partielles. Goursat était professeur à l'Université de Paris et membre de l'Académie des sciences française. Ses recherches et son enseignement ont influencé le développement des mathématiques au début du XXe siècle.
