About the Authors

Paul Anderson has extensive experience helping teachers, departments and schools improve their pupils' attainment. Paul has worked for major exam boards for many years in a range of roles, including Chief Examiner, Principal Moderator and Chair of Examiners. He has been involved in developing several D&T and Engineering qualifications. Paul has written or co-authored numerous textbooks and teaching resources across design, technology and engineering.

David Hills-Taylor is an experienced D&T and engineering educational consultant, teacher and Lead Practitioner. He has authored many textbooks, revision guides and teaching resources for D&T and Engineering. He is a senior examiner for a major awarding body.

Paul Elliott is a very experienced educator and examiner of Design, Technology and Engineering, with 20 years of teaching and leadership in these subjects. Coming from a research engineering background, he has specialised in development and teaching of practical engineering and computer aided design. Paul has held roles at exam boards including Principal Moderator and Principal Examiner, alongside significant involvement with development and assessment of vocational engineering courses.

Jonathan Andrews is an engineering educator, curriculum developer and technical author specialising in vocational engineering and manufacturing education. He has extensive experience developing teaching, learning and assessment materials across mechanical, electrical, electronic and manufacturing engineering disciplines. His areas of expertise include hydraulics, pneumatics, vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics, automation and manufacturing technologies, including light and electric vehicle systems.
