Sustainable development, emphasized by international organizations and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, has evolved into Industry 5.0. Unlike Industry 4.0, Industry 5.0 prioritizes social justice and sustainable development, focusing on human-centricity, ecological balance, and resilience. It advocates for circular processes, reduced waste, and lowered environmental impact. The transition to a green economy requires bottom-up efforts from eco-entrepreneurs. In the era of knowledge-based economies, enterprises emphasize sustainable development, including the transition to Sustainable Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM combines sustainability with a soft approach to human resources, fostering trust, teamwork, and employee commitment. However, literature on SHRM lacks a universally accepted definition. This monograph aims to bridge gaps through theoretical and empirical examinations of connections between sustainable HR practices and Industry 5.0, identifying competencies needed for effective implementation within this framework. The study contributes to the understanding of the evolving relationship between Industry 5.0 and sustainable HR practices, setting the stage for further research.

Mariusz Sołtysik is a University Professor UEK at the College of Management and Quality Sciences at the University of Economics in Krakow. He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Małopolska Regional Group of the International Project Management Association.
Małgorzata Tyrańska is an Associate Professor at the Cracow University of Economics, with a post-doctoral degree in economic science in the discipline of management sciences. Research interests include employment restructuring, organizational structure improvement, job evaluation, competency profile assessment, and employee evaluation. Since 2015, she is a member of the experts' team for the evaluation of projects implemented as part of European programs.
Katarzyna Piwowar-Sulej, PhD DSc, is an Associate Professor at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business and is the Head of postgraduate studies for business trainers and postgraduate studies “Management 3.0”. Research interests include sustainable human resource management and sustainable project management.
Tri Siwi Agustina has worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University - Surabaya since 2002. He has a Doctoral in Management Science which he completed in the Doctoral Program (S3) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Padjajaran University.
