Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Phil Rizzuto won a Most Valuable Player Award and was part of the Yankees' five consecutive World Championships. Daniel Hirshberg wrote the book in 1993 and argued that Rizzuto deserved a spot in Baseball's Hall of Fame, which inducted him in 1994. With a low lifetime WAR, Rizzuto probably would not make the Hall today. After his playing career was over, Rizzuto began a long career as a Yankee broadcaster. Hirbshberg was the sports editor of the Hackettstown (N.J.)Star-Gazette when the book was written. Both the non price clipped Dust Jacket and the book are in very good condition. I have around 50 books on broadcasters, 130 publications on Yankees teams and players and more than 170 books by and about sportswriters in stock.
