`This book is very valuable for the medical imaging scientist and may serve several purposes: as a detailed and relatively complete introduction to a possibly unfamiliar area of medical imaging, and as a source of inspiration for one's own research. While the book is an excellent resource for the imaging scientist, the physician with a technical bent might also benefit from it. This reviewer eagerly awaits the proceedings of the ninth conference.'
