Cardiac Surgery and the Conduction System, 2nd Edition encapsulates the present knowledge of the conduction system as it applies to most cardiac operations that are performed today.
In 11 sections, this edition gives the surgical view of the anatomy of the conduction system in various types of congenital abnormalities of the heart in a diagrammatic manner, and provides an in–depth view of this system. This is accomplished by the actual drawings of the course of the conduction system in the heart specimen itself, and by the histologic pictures of this system, especially the AV bundle, as it related to the defect and/or the specific anomaly.
A review of the conduction system is provided to help orient the surgeon, followed by numerous descriptions and illustrations designed to enable the surgeon to visualize the various components of the conduction system in any operation as he looks through the surgical exposure.
