About the Author
Theresa Briscoe has been nursing within the NHS and private sector for many years. Her speciality is teaching medical and nursing staff the philosphy of activities for the elderly. Her pioneering Activities Nurse Service within the NHS has now been running for four years. In 1988 she becase Nursing Standard's Nurse fo the Year for her work in this field. Theresa also chairs the RCN Special Interest Group for Activities Nurses.
