From the Author

COME AND MEET A PROMISING NEW AUTHOR
Hello. As the author of TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, I would like to welcome you to the Utah canyon country of the 1880s. If you like stories of the old west, if you like romance, mystery and danger, then you'll like my story.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD was particularly fun for me to write because it allowed me to use the stories my own mother told me about growing up in dugouts, and all that such a stark life entails. Tempest Whitney, my heroine, excavated her dugout with only the help of an old trapper, and her two and a half year old daughter. Her husband was dead and her second child was on the way. The hero, Buck Maddux, can't help but fall in love with this gutsy lady he came to see straight out of prison because of a deathbed promise to her husband. Nor could Tempest resist Buck's dark good looks, the intriguing mystery surrounding his past, or the kindness he shows her and her children.

Join Tempest and Buck as they fight together to save her land from the rancher intent on taking it, and her, for himself. Set in a fascinating canyon once inhabited by an ancient Indian tribe, this story includes buried Spanish gold, a stolen payroll, lies, murder and romance at its best. I hope you like it as much as I liked writing it.
