Synopsis
For over ten years, Gail Gelburd and Geri De Paoli have studied different artists and different generations of artists, and arrived at the conclusion that Asian philosophy, particularly Taoism and Zen, has had a profound affect on contemporary American art. Together they reveal a thread that weaves through and ties the art of the last half-century together, bringing together artists as seemingly diverse as Robert Rauschenberg and Robert Irwin, or John Baldessari and Carl Andre.
