D. C. Phillips is Professor of Education and Philosophy and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Education at Stanford University. Jonas F. Soltis is William Heard Kilpatrick Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
