The implementation of land reform legislation in the Indian state of Rajasthan is examined in this book. The articles cover six major issues: land reform and economic development; status of land ceiling; implementation of tenancy reforms; allotment of government and community lands to weaker sections; computerization of land records; and protection of the land and forest rights of tribes. The contributors argue for the mobilization of the rural poor in order to implement land reforms effectively.
