There is also expanded discussion on principles of epidemiology, more information on why reliability and validity and other psychometric properties are important, and a new section titled, "Questions to Consider When Critiquing". The book covers the 11 steps of the research process to show what is being done and why it is important in the process. It contains more than 100 examples of published research and includes a discussion on reviewing the literature and writing a literature review. A perforated workbook section tests a range of knowledge, beginning with knowledge recall questions and ending with analytical questions. Chapters include learning objectives, a glossary of key terms, summary of key ideas, student learning activities and references.
