About the Author

Rosie Pilbeam was brought up in a farming family where she quickly learnt respect for all animals, particularly dogs, who she was taught were the most important workers on the farm. Her mother Yelva Danielsen introduced her to dog, cattle and cat shows at an early age, and she handled many of her mother s homebred Great Danes and Dobermanns to gain their titles. She followed in her mother s footsteps, breeding, showing and judging Border Collies under the Romellva affix. Rosie is passionate about educating both humans and canines, and is interested in the bond that can be built between handler and dog. She has taken part in several documentary-style television and radio shows, as well as training dogs for film work. After working in various colleges and universities for many years, specializing in animal/human interaction, she set up Applause For Paws Agility Training Club (rosie@applauseforpaws.co.uk), the aim of which is to promote both the mental and physical fitness of dog/owner teams to the best of their abilities.
