The snake is miserable in her cramped cage at the zoo. She longs to have room to stretch out as she did when she lived in her sunny island home. Her only pleasure is eating the mice she is fed every day. One day a most unusual mouse drops into her mouth, one who forces the snake's jaws apart and promises to help her escape if she will kindly not eat her. The snake is naturally skeptical. "Never fear, Snake my dear!" the mouse cheerfully assures her, and off they go on an adventure of a lifetime.
