SIGNED by author on title page with further inscription to Lt Col Butler in a different pen at top; loosely inserted signed note from author to Lt Col Butler loosely inserted. The author served for 26 years with the RAN beginning in 1938. He served on 4 ships during WWII- HMAS Hobart, HMAS Nizam, HMAS Moresby and HMAS Pirie. While with the Pirie he witnessed the Japanese surrender ceremonies in Tokyo Bay. His various ships served under frontline conditions over all the world's oceans. Size: 4to.
