Synopsis
Competent Crew covers both the shorebased and the practical aspects of the RYA Competent Crew Course. It will prepare crew for their first time afloat by explaining basic sea skills and boat handling including; sail trimming and handling, understanding the compass and sailing a course, anchoring and mooring, ropework, handling safety equipment, emergency procedures, simple collision rules, elementary meteorology.

About the Author
Pat Langley-Price and Philip Ouvry are qualified RYA instructors with years of practical experience, Pat's gained through thousands of miles of yacht deliveries and as a sailing instructor. Philip was an Examining Officer of naval yacht skippers and spent 20 years in the Royal Navy.
