It provides three detailed case studies, focusing on Indian fiction in English, Caribbean and Black British poetry, and contemporary South African literature. A searching final chapter looks at work by Margaret Atwook, J.G. Ballard, and Vikram Seth -- and the question of what might follow 'After Post-Colonialism.' Among the other writers and theorists discussed are Achebe, Bennett, Bhaba, Gordimer, Fanon, Freud, Marx, Mhlophe, Miller, Narayan, Nichols, Said, Sartre, Spivak, and Suleri.
