Synopsis
This book examines models of sustainable development and sets out a framework for analysing urban development and its associated sustainability issues. It looks at strategies such as planning, property development, design, construction and operational activities which have been developed to address the issues of development and sustainability, and provides a directory of environmental assessment methods currently available. These methods are being transformed in the evaluation of the environmental, economic and social sustainability of urban development, and this book keeps the reader informed of the fundamental changes taking place in assessment.
